Introduction [Biosketch]

  • Dr. Sudipta Halder did his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from VTU and M.Tech in Materials Engineering from Bengal University and Science University (BESU) presently, Indian Institute of Science and Technology (IIST), Ph.D. In Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department at IIT Roorkee In “Characterization of ultrasonically dispersed nanoparticle filled epoxy adhesive” used at ambient and Elevated Temperatures applications in Automobile and Aerospace Industries under Guidance of Dr. P.K.Ghosh. Worked at TATA Consulting Engineers Limited in Process & Technology business unit for more than three years and completed many projects, heterogonous catalyst, biodiesel, epoxy nanocomposites, sponge chrome, titanium pigments, and many others related to iron and steel, especially with TATA Steel. After that, I joined the National Institute of Technology Silchar (An Institute of National Importance by MHRD, Govt. of India) as an Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Presently research area consists of composite materials, laminated composites, self-healing composites, nanostructured materials, adhesive science and technology, encapsulation technology, low-cost energy efficient building materials, phase change materials, and thermo-mechanical behavior and fracture behavior of materials. Visiting professor at The University of Alabama, the USA for 1 year, under the prestigious BHAWAN fellowship program supported by IUSSTF and DST, India in 2016. I made significant progress and solved a major problem with on microencapsulation technique by developing a new multifunctional coating for the microcapsules for impregnating PCMs. Later joined again on 2020 as an Associate research personnel at The Department of Aerospace and Alabama Transportation Institute at the University of Alabama. An experienced gain in filament winding and vitrimer synthesis for producing 3R FRPs.
